What is a verruca?
A verruca is a type of wart that appears on the sole of the foot, caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). Because of their location, they can often become painful due to pressure and can be resistant to treatment — especially if they've been present for months or even years.
How does plasma treatment work?
Plasma therapy uses targeted, low-temperature plasma energy to debride and cauterise the verruca tissue. This helps disrupt the viral structure and encourages the body’s immune system to respond locally. The treatment is delivered using a precision pen — ideal for focused work without damaging the surrounding healthy skin.
Unlike other methods, plasma therapy doesn’t rely on chemicals or freezing agents. It is minimally invasive, and sessions are generally well tolerated, even on sensitive areas of the foot.
What can I expect during treatment?
The verruca will be carefully assessed during your consultation.
The area is prepared and debrided (any dead or thickened skin is gently removed).
The Verruca Pen is applied to the lesion, emitting a fine plasma arc to cauterise the tissue.
You’ll receive clear aftercare instructions and advice on footwear, hygiene, and healing support.
Some clients require a short course of treatments, spaced several weeks apart, depending on the size and duration of the verruca.
